PORTO CERVO MARINA
HISTORY
Porto Cervo rises on a cape formed from the bay of the gulf of Arzachena, and it is the true centre of the Costa Smeralda.
This small village was born in 1962 for wanting of prince Karim Aga Khan who remained fascinated from the beauty of these coasts, he bought these lands and constructed the first hotel.
In the zone south of Porto Cervo there is the "Vecchio Porto" that was built in the 60’s and is still working with boats and sailers.
The much most recent one is the tourist port, in the east part of the country, it is very equipped and it has a capability of 700 places.
Both ports make part of the village of Porto Cervo. In a place like this you can’t miss to go around of the docks in order to admire the best boats of all Mediterranean Sea.
The village rises along the coasts in a deep natural bay shaped like the horns of a deer (from which it takes the name), until the slopes of the small surrounding hills.
In the western side of the port there is the “Marina di Porto Cervo”, it is one of the
biggest of the meditarranean, and just a few can compete with the beauty of its surrounding.
In summer time there is a parade of beautiful yachts, personalities: every day there are many exclusive events and parties. In the centre of Porto Cervo you can enjoy a fascinating walk: from the little Chiacchiere’s square until the Sottopiazza it is full of alleys, windows, balconies, constructed in the typical style of the Costa Smeralda.
There are many stores from prestigious griffes, then you can go on until the little square that faces the old port where you can admire exclusive yacht in the crystal water all surrounded from beautiful villas. Moreover the picturesque church of “ Stella Maris” offers a extraordinary view of “Marina di Porto Cervo”.
The night makes Porto Cervo a fascinating place, where the light reflecting on the water creates a magic atmosphere.
SKILL CARD
“Marina di Porto Cervo” is in the inner part of the bay of Porto Cervo, and it is constituted from a protection dam, 7 piers disposed to aureole and some docks; moreover there are also various floating wharves. The entrance is dangerous with the Grecale. In front of the dock there are numerous buoys that allow the mooring of prow also without using anchor. The old port is in the eastern side of the Marina in the south coast of the bay: it is constituted from a long dock where they berth big yachts, and from a long floating wharf. The port is equipped of most complete and modern tourist infrastructures, and it is attended from international customers. In order to recognize it from the sea, you can head to Capo Ferro, an high and dark cape of 46 mt high, with a lighthouse in the north of Porto Cervo, and trough the two lights to the income of the bay, and the buildings of the hotel complexes and the tourist village. It is recommended the sailors who are not experienced of the zone to avoid Passo delle Galere, that is between the small inlet of Li Nibani, because it is' easy to confuse it with Passo delle Rocche, whose depth are dangerous. The coast of Port Cervo is rocky and with many fjords, islands, rocks and Beaches.

The covered sheds can accommodate whichever type of boat for the safekeeping, from sail ones to motor units until 250 t. In the wide large square can be carried out repairs, maintenance, transformation of yachts until 45 mt. of length.

Shed and warehouses
Three sheds for a total of 7.360 mq. completely covered and equipped of antifire and ventilation system. Material warehouses for equipment and trees, parts, warehouse for boats in safekeeping and berthed.
