PORTO CERVO AMONGST SEA, GASTRONOMY AND HAUTE CUISINE FOR A DELICIOUS END OF SEASON FESTIVAL
On the 24th and 25th of September the Costa Smeralda opens its doors to the third edition of the Porto Cervo Food Festival: a special occasion to enjoy a last weekend of sun in the most evocative island of the Mediterranean, enjoying the finest of the Sardinian and Italian gastronomic scene combined to the gourmet cuisine of renowned chefs.
The event, organized by the four hotels owned by Colony Capital and managed by Starwood Hotels & Resorts - Cala di Volpe, Romazzino, Pitrizza and Cervo - will feature forty selected artisans of taste that will lead all food amateurs in a journey through flavors and traditions of Sardinia and othermajor Italian regions. The tastings will also be accompanied by numerous side events, which will animate Porto Cervo during this season’s finale.
The tastings.Two days to discover and taste the best dishes from Sardinia and the main Italian regions: honey, cheese, salami, fish eggs, pickles, jams, cakes, pastries and much more. A full program of tastings and delicious discoveries.
The show cooking.The products available for tasting will becomesignature dishes in the culinary inventions of the Executive Chefsof the Starwood Hotels, which will transfer their kitchens in the garden of the Conference Center to perform live, revealing tricks and curiosity of their recipes. The dishes will also be sampled in a special lounge set up for the event.
Pastry classes.During two days Il Pescatore restaurant turns into a special school of pastry, where fans and lovers of sweets can try their hand at the creation of mouth-watering recipes, followed by the Executive Pastry Chef of the Hotel Cervo and Pitrizza,Manuel Arcadu and the Executive Pastry Chef of the hotel Cala di Volpe, AntonioVallana.
The guest chef.Saturday evening, La Pergola, the Cervo Hotelrestaurant situated in the renowned Piazzetta of Porto Cervo, will welcome a master of Italian cuisine that will captivate the Costa Smeralda gourmet audience with a menu of its most famous dishes, revisited with Sardinian’s scents and flavors.
Books to taste.Sunday afternoon, Vittorio Castellani, also known as Chef Kumalè, renowned journalist and gastronome will present his latest book, “Nuvole di Drago e Granelli di CousCous”: a recipe book of travels, a careful selection of recipes among those tested and collected in his "explorations" through the 5 continents. A book that combines traditional Italiandishes tothe rich and spicy flavours of the most varied cuisines worldwide.
The Porto Cervo Food Festival proposes a simple recipe, full of flavors. For this season’s finale, the Starwood Hotels& Resorts offer a special package with a minimum stay of two days in half board which includes:accommodation in a double room, dinner on Saturday 24, signed by the guest chef at La Pergola restaurant, a pastry cooking class.
